A: Yes! Check out some of these other game modes:

Accents: Any game mode with a chosen accent to sound out with for that game, or all accents are fair game for everyone.

Phonanagrams: Each person creates a personal crossword grid using the sounds they draw from the deck. Player with the most points at the end wins.

Non-Competitive: Just practice! Fan out your cards and see what words you can come up with.

Q: What if I don't distinguish between two sounds?
A: This is not uncommon. There are many accents and dialects in the English language. This is where the catchphrase, A Game For All Talks Of Life, comes from. What makes a play pass or not is up to the group playing to decide. Physical and online dictionaries can be helpful as references.
Q: Where do the symbols for each sound come from?
A: Each symbol used in Sound Out is from the International Phonetic Alphabet(IPA). However, Sound Out is primarily a game of pronouncing words by referencing lexical sets(example words).
